November 20th, 2025, is Give the Max Day (GTMD25) here in Minnesota. It will be a big day of giving thanks, and we can’t wait!

Since we regularly get questions about Give to the Max Day, we compiled some important information for our nonprofit friends.

What is Give to the Max Day?

Launched in 2009 as a collaborative venture spearheaded by the Minnesota Community Foundation and many other notable organizations, GiveMN’s vision is to help make the state of MN a better place.

Give to the Max, which occurs annually before Thanksgiving in November, is its main event. This day of giving is a well-publicized event for Minnesota nonprofits and schools, encouraging donations through a 24-hour online fundraising marathon.

Over the years, GiveMN has grown substantially, helping to raise hundreds of millions of dollars for causes across Minnesota.

Why Should My Nonprofit Participate?

Give to the Max Day is about more than just raising funds—it’s about raising awareness and forging connections with passionate supporters who want to create a better Minnesota. The event boosts visibility for nonprofits that might not otherwise reach as large an audience and provides a focused opportunity to tell impactful stories and engage new and existing donors in meaningful ways.

The event also encourages friendly competition through leaderboards and cash prizes for organizations across different categories. This incentive structure can significantly increase donations, helping nonprofits hit and exceed their fundraising goals.

One thing to note. The fees associated with GTMD are steep. The processing fee for Give to the Max Day 2025 is 6.9% of the donation amount. The GiveMN website stipulates that this fee covers the cost of maintaining the fundraising platform and the credit card processing fees.

How Can My Nonprofit Participate?

GiveMN makes it easy to register for Give to the Max. Simply complete the registration form on the website and fill out the to-dos within your organization’s administrative area. It’s not too late to register! Registration for GTMD25 will close at 11:59 a.m. CST on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
