Engage Your Audience with Interactive Maps

Interactive maps and location systems offer an engaging user experience by presenting information and resources in versatile ways. Unlike static maps, interactive maps provide an immersive and convenient platform to showcase location-based services and resources for your audience. From helping users find nearby employment opportunities to locating donation centers, we’ve leveraged interactive maps for our nonprofit clients and have seen increased engagement, traffic, and stronger connections as a result. In this blog we’ll look at our work and how you can engage your audience with interactive maps!

Hunger Solutions is dedicated to ending hunger in Minnesota through collaborations with government programs, food shelves, and community partnerships. Their mission to end hunger and food insecurity is one we are proud to support.

The “Find Help” page on their website features an interactive map that assists users in locating various hunger solutions, including discount grocery stores, free meals, farmers markets, and even free pet food. Since Hunger Solutions’ mission covers the entire state, having a “Find Help” interactive map makes accessing food easy and convenient, no matter where someone lives.

LeadingAge MN and MN Care Providers have teamed up to create CaringCareersStartHere.com, a free resource for Minnesotans to explore and find meaningful careers in caregiving.

Given the wide range of career pathways in caregiving—from nursing and direct care to social services and hospitality—Caring Careers needed to offer a resource that helps individuals find career opportunities based on their background and experience. Additionally, they needed a tool for caregiving employers to promote their open positions and resources. The Caring Careers Employer Match system made things better for job seekers and employers alike, allowing users to search by location, distance to the workplace, roles, and specific keywords.

Since 1996, the Student Leadership Network has been assisting young people in underserved communities gain access to higher education through a variety of programs and resources. Their mission is educational equality for all, supported by their core values of growth, impact, and inclusion.

While SLN has strong roots in New York City, their services extend beyond the city. They aimed to enhance the visibility of their programs through a virtual map showcasing their various partnerships along the East Coast. Students can easily find a program that fits their geographical preferences and click on the map to be directed to the program’s website.

For the past 30 years, Project Angel Heart has been dedicated to providing medically tailored meals to severely ill Coloradans, helping them heal and stay at home, while still getting quality meals with the nutrients they need. Each week, their team of professional chefs and registered dietitians prepares meals to meet the medical and dietary needs of those they serve.

“Dine Out. Give Back.” Project Angel Heart’s annual fundraiser, Dining Out For Life, featured a list of restaurant partners who donated a portion of their proceeds to support their mission and Coloradans living with severe illnesses. With over 100 restaurants to choose from, creating an interactive map searchable by location, meal type, and cuisine made it easy and convenient for diners to participate. As a result, 755,000 meals were delivered to 5,000 Coloradans living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney disease, and other illnesses in 2024 alone.

Incorporating interactive maps into your digital strategy enhances your connection with your audience, making your information and resources accessible, convenient, and engaging. Whether simplifying the search for essential resources, matching job seekers with career opportunities, expanding program visibility, or increasing participation in fundraising events, interactive maps are a valuable and engaging tool.
