Case Study
ArcStone delivered an accessible, mobile-optimized website redesign for the Jack Jablonski Foundation’s spinal cord injury research mission.

The Jack Jablonski Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to advancing research for innovative treatments to achieve victories over paralysis. On December 30, 2011, during a hockey game between Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Wayzata High Schools, 16-year-old Jack Jablonski was checked from behind and went head-first into the boards. The impact fractured his C5 and C6 vertebrae and severed his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. The unprecedented outpouring of community support following Jack’s injury inspired his family and friends to establish the Jack Jablonski BEL13VE in Miracles Foundation on the one-year anniversary of his accident.
Since its inception over 11 years ago, the Jack Jablonski Foundation has raised $4.5 million for spinal cord injury research and recovery programs. The organization currently funds clinical trials for 24 people with spinal cord injuries, including groundbreaking treatments such as Spinal Cord Neuromodulation and studies at Mayo Clinic and UCLA. Jack graduated from USC in 2019 and now serves as Associate Digital Media Content Specialist for the Los Angeles Kings while continuing his rehabilitation therapy and participating in the foundation’s funded clinical trials. His unwavering belief that every day holds the potential for something amazing to happen drives both his personal recovery journey and the foundation’s mission to help others living with paralysis.

The Challenge:
The Jack Jablonski Foundation’s outdated website was difficult to edit, lacked proper accessibility features, and provided poor mobile experience. The old site was being patched rather than properly rebuilt, creating ongoing maintenance issues that diverted staff attention from mission-critical work. The foundation needed to reach both traditional donors and younger supporters while clearly organizing content about research initiatives, recovery stories, and assistance programs. Additionally, they required better integration with their fundraising systems and event registration capabilities to support their major annual fundraising events.
The organization faced significant challenges in effectively communicating their critical role in spinal cord injury research and recovery support. The existing platform failed to showcase the foundation’s impressive impact, including their $4.5 million in raised funds and current support of clinical trials for 24 people with spinal cord injuries. The website needed to serve multiple audiences effectively while honoring Jack’s inspiring story and positioning the foundation as a leading advocate for the broader spinal cord injury community.
