Case Study

BlueSky believes every student deserves to learn in a way that fits their unique needs. Their website needed to support that mission.

A pioneer in distance learning, BlueSky is Minnesota’s most established online public charter school. Since 2000, BlueSky has provided a free, high-quality online curriculum to Minnesota students in grades 7 to 12.

Our Role

  • WordPress Website Redesign
  • Digital Marketing – Copywriting, SEO, Video, SEM
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Support & Hosting

The Challenge:

BlueSky Online School’s website no longer served their needs. They had outgrown it over the years. They needed a website to serve multiple audiences, from their students, school community, and staff to prospective students and families. The website also required a tight integration with the Moodle platform and parent portal.

Our Approach

Before beginning the website redesign, we interviewed students, parents, and staff to ensure we addressed the necessary functionality and features. We understood their digital habits through the interviews and guided our blueprint website plan.

Since serving Students is at the heart of what BlueSky does, we decided to prominently feature them, front and center, on the website.

We also added a blog so content could be used to deepen the school community’s engagement, improve SEO, and resonate with prospective students and their families.

Year Over Year Results

After launching their redesigned website, BlueSky’s organic traffic is up 70%, and goal conversions are up 107%. In collaboration, we’ve taken a gardener’s approach to their website, continually updating and adding enhancements to the website to serve the unique needs of their audiences.

107% Increase
