Plymouth Christian Youth Center (PCYC) and The Capri Theater are interconnected North Minneapolis organizations that serve the community through youth arts programming, cultural events, and community gathering spaces. Both organizations needed digital platforms that could authentically represent their deep community roots while effectively engaging supporters and promoting programs that strengthen North Minneapolis cultural life.

The Challenge:

Both organizations needed websites that could capture the authentic spirit of North Minneapolis while serving practical needs around program promotion and community engagement. PCYC required a platform that reflected their youth-focused mission and community connection, enabling them to better showcase their programming impact and engage families and supporters in meaningful ways.

The Capri faced the unique challenge of needing a website that could support their physical reopening and expansion while honoring their cultural significance in North Minneapolis history. Their platform needed to balance cultural storytelling with practical functionality, allowing them to promote contemporary programming while celebrating their historical role as a cornerstone of the community’s arts scene.

Our Approach

For PCYC, ArcStone created a WordPress design that embraces their playful, community-focused brand while clearly communicating youth programming and community impact. We prioritized developing a visual identity and user experience that would resonate with families and supporters, ensuring the platform could effectively showcase the transformative power of their youth arts initiatives.

For The Capri, we developed a platform that combines cultural storytelling with practical event tools, enabling the theater to promote programming while celebrating their role in North Minneapolis cultural history. The design framework needed to accommodate both their rich legacy and their forward-looking programming, creating seamless navigation between historical context and contemporary offerings.

Both projects prioritized authentic community representation over generic nonprofit or arts organization templates. Our approach centered on understanding each organization’s unique voice and community relationships, ensuring the digital platforms would feel genuine to the North Minneapolis community while providing the functionality needed to support ongoing growth and engagement.
