March 8th marked International Women’s Day 2021. This day that we are thrilled to support started in 1911 with rallies around the world for a woman’s right to the vote, to work, and the movement to end discrimination against women went public.

As an agency that is dedicated to helping nonprofits achieve their goals and grow their mission, we thought what better time than now to highlight some incredible nonprofits that deserve your support this Women’s History Month (and always)!

Nonprofits to Support This Women’s History Month

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood has certainly not been short of opposition, but what great movement didn’t have its fair share of opposers? I personally have had a long standing relationship with PP specifically the operations here in Minnesota. They give women the healthcare they deserve by giving them choices and education and so much more. Every year the Planned Parenthood of the North Central States alone provide health education to over 55,000 people in states across the midwest, including MN.

Women’s Foundation of MN

This nonprofit was founded in 1983 and is the first statewide women’s foundation in the nation. Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is exclusively dedicated to growing and fighting for the equity of women and girls. They started because they saw a huge need and shortage of philanthropic support for women and girls in Minnesota.

Today, while they still are dedicated to driving gender and racial equality, they are also building pathways to economic security for women who have the greatest need throughout the state. They work to support low-income women and girls of color and provide them with economic opportunity. Keep breaking those glass ceilings.

Emma Norton

Emma Norton is near and dear to us because we have worked with the organization and we know how committed and passionate they are about the work they do. This St.Paul-based nonprofit provides transformational housing and growth opportunities for women and families who are on a recovery journey. They operate with the values of strength, empowerment, innovation, and more. Emma Norton has helped countless women and families move away from toxic environments and into safe communities that help them build independent living skills and make radical transformations.

YWCA Minneapolis

Our ArcStone office was only a few blocks from the YWCA here in Uptown, Minneapolis. And we loved it! Many of our ArcStonians frequented the YWCA. What started in 1891, the YWCA Minneapolis is part of the oldest and largest multicultural organization in the world! Their mission is and has always been to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Now that’s a mission we can get behind. Check out their awesome events

We strive to support nonprofits every day of the year, but this month we especially want to support those local nonprofits that are doing amazing work to support women and girls in our communities.
