About Joli Doornink

Joli is a Web Marketing & SEO Specialist at ArcStone. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in English and a minor in Journalism, she still wondered what she wanted to be when she grew up. It was an internship that opened her eyes to the world of SEO, and that's when her decision was made. Living in Hopkins with her soon-to-be husband Colin, Joli enjoys running, biking, and picnics in the sun. Her favorite place is Duluth and Minnesota's North Shore, which she grew quite attached to during college.

You’ve probably heard (far too many times by now) about social media strategy, and its importance to your overall marketing strategy. When you search “social media strategy,” you may find yourself instantly lost in the sheer magnitude of information. There are articles, blog posts, infographics, and videos from many sources, which you don’t know the [...]

If you haven’t seen this commercial from Kmart, you’re in for a chuckle. The company uses the proximity of the word “ship” to another choice 4-letter word to their advantage to explain their ship-to-store services in a memorable, viral kind of way. So, what do you think? Have they gone too far, or is their [...]

Here at ArcStone, we love writing for or blog. But finding the time is never easy! However, when we did have the time in 2012, we came up with a couple neat ones. In case you missed them, here’s a recap of our 5 most popular blog posts of 2012. They’re all over the board! [...]

Here at ArcStone, the holidays mean it’s time for the annual holiday party. This year’s party was chock full of good food, great company, lighting ourselves on fire, and some hilarious white elephant gifts. Please enjoy this awkward holiday photo, featuring a couple of those gifts. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Good websites grow. New services or products come up, new pictures are taken, a hot industry topic comes up that you write about, etc. Generally, that growth is a good thing, as good content attracts good traffic. That said, good content ages. It’s easy to let aging happen to website content, without being proactive about [...]

Happy Halloween from all of us at ArcStone! May your day be filled with spooks and sugar. Our costumes, from left to right, starting with the back row: Hamburgler, YouTube sensation, French guy, large guy in a mumu, travel agent, ceiling fan, 80s chick, hot dog, bog monster, and a very convincing golden doodle…who may [...]

If you get bored and distracted easily while reading news stories, listen up. At the 2012 MIMA (Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association) Summit, I attended a class called “Emerging Media: What’s Next?” with speaker Soraya Darabi. If you’ve never heard her name, she basically created the New York Times’ social media presence. Anyway, she spoke about [...]

So you’ve heard a lot about how important content is, lately (especially if you read this blog). Guest blogging, your own blog, infographics, compelling images, content this, content that. You started updating your site and your blog in earnest, but you’ve slowly run out of ideas. You can only write about so many things within [...]

Last week, we ArcStonians were given the opportunity to volunteer at Target Field, to help some kids have a blast. The event was put on by the Create a Memory Foundation, and this was their 24th year holding the event. Around 500 kids showed up to play ball and take part in all sorts of [...]

I have a problem. A couple weeks ago, I bought fancy cheese. Really delicious, fancy cheese. Delectable on crackers. Mind you, I am not a connoisseur of fine cheeses, so it wasn’t too expensive  – more like $4.50 for a nice wedge. Anyway, all that matters is that my delicious cheese got moldy and had [...]
